Snacking on TEDxMacon

Your life is about to change, especially if you haven’t already seen this and keeping your shoes tied is a problem.

This is how I got into the world of TED. I quickly began devouring talks that sounded interesting – like how the brain works or connecting creatively. Then Macon got an offshoot of TED called TEDx. The offshoot allows smaller communities to use the people to share ideas worth spreading. The first TEDxMacon was amazing with some amazing insights into the community and the people through their ideas, like this one from Floco Torres

You have an opportunity now to be a part of the next TEDxMacon, going on June 22, 2013. The topic is just “Ideas Worth Sharing.” You have some. I know you do. So come audition on June 7th. More information below from the Event page.

Do you have an idea worth spreading? Come see us at the The Armory Ballroom this Friday (June 7th) between 3-6 pm. All we’re looking for is a 1-5 minute snippet of your talk. No pictures, props, or Powerpoints needed. Just you and your idea (or a loose representation of what your idea is and/or will be). Walk-ins welcome. Spectators are even more welcome to attend. The bar will be open. There is even talk of snacks!

***If you are interested in sharing your idea with us but are unable to attend Friday’s event, feel free to send a short (1-5 minute) video of yourself talking about your idea to the TEDxMacon facebook account. We are not looking for your full talk and we do not expect a full-blown presentation. Please be sure to include your name and contact information to ensure that we are able to get in touch with you afterwards.

Please note: The actual TEDxMacon will be on June 22nd! But don’t let that discourage you if you are unavailable! We still want to hear your pitch, because we can consider it for future events!
